We flew from Heathrow to Los Angeles in September 1998.  One of the
stewardess got fed up with people trying to squeeze past her as she was
serving,  she got a large piece of paper and wrote on it "Don't ask me to
move" and pinned it on her back.

My husband sat on the aisle seat, and the passenger who was sitting across
the aisle dropped a contact lens.  He was on his hands and knees looking for
his contact lens and it was quite dark, my husband and another passenger
also got down to see if they could find it.  Two stewards came along the
aisle and had to stop because of the people looking for the lens and one
said, "oh my goodness, what are you all doing?", we told him what we were
doing and he turned to the other steward and laughed.  They then both just
stood there, not offering to help, hands on hips, waiting for everyone to
move out of their way.  I would not fly Virgin again.
